NZPCA Horse & Pony Zone Games Finals
Results
Congratulations to: BBK for winning the Zone 1 NZPCA
Horse & Pony Games Finals. It was an exciting day and the games were run
in very hot conditions. The competition was fierce amongst the 11 teams that
came from Northland (x 3), Auckland (x 3), and Waitemata Rodney (x 5). As you
can see from the results, the top two scores were very close indeed. Special
thanks must go to Janet Sefton who has prepared the games equipment for
Waitemata Rodney over the past few years, and this equipment was presented in
pristine condition for the finals.
Pat Perkins (NZPCA Games Chairperson)
accepted the invitation to attend and she was very pleased on how the day was
run and also very interested in the equipment. It was great to have her for
back up on some of the rules and to join in on the official presentation of
rosettes and gift vouchers (which were sponsored by Equestrian Supplies and Horselands
of Silverdale) to Rosedale A for winning the Fair Play section and to Clevedon
for being the most cheerful team. One voucher was presented to Lauren Watson
who was riding the oldest horse on the day. Her horse is called Flippy and is
a 29 year old mare. Lauren was (it just happens), the oldest rider at our
games and this will be her last year for this competition. The combination has
been to zone games 7 times and has competed in the North Island Games Champs
twice as well as other pony club activities such as showjumping.
Special thanks must go Waitemata Rodney for
putting on a great day and to all the officials, stewards, lane judges, time
keepers, food makers and all the parents that came and supported all their
riders. Results are:
