Hakaru Branch

Hakaru Branch is situated at Settlement Road in Kaiwaka, where we hold regular rallies, (about 2 a month) whereby we all get together for instruction, games or treks and in the summer holidays we have an amazing camp where we have long rides and swim in the sea.
We run ODE's, ribbon days and dressage and showjumping days.
Our Branch has been operating since 1974, so we have a good history. The one thing that hasnt changed, is that we want all our riders to have fun and our aim is to teach them how to look after their ponies, and to be safe on them.
We have access to a wonderful cross country course, and we have all weather 60 x 35m sand and shell arena plus a new pipe arena. We accept adult members. Pony club is also offering a programme for riders without horses, so get in touch with one of the committee and come and join us. New members are welcome.
Wellsford District Pony Club
Team selections are made each year to represent our club in showjumping, dressage, games and ODEs. There are some years that we cannot get a full team, but we ask around for riders from other clubs so that we can send one.
We have two main fundraisers per year to raise the money required to send these teams away. These are a showjumping day and a dressage / showjumping day. We do not have a base to hold these competitions so the two branches host them.
We also combine the branches to hold rallies ie cross country practice and Xmas rallies as well as treks and sometimes camps.
